This example explores the interaction model for inline editing with TreeView.
Inline Editing of TreeView Node Labels: TreeView has intrinsic support for user-editing of node labels. This example takes you through three common mechanisms for defining a TreeView. Three Ways to Define a TreeView: Markup (Progressive Enhancement), Existing TreeView Instance, and Object Literal : TreeView supports a number of different inputs for creating the node structure, including consuming existing markup on the page. TreeView with Tooltips: In this example, the a single Tooltip is configured to work with all of the nodes in the tree. Using TreeView with Custom Icons: Applying a specific label style to each node allows you to customize the icons that each node displays. It also makes use of the Menu Node, in which only one child at each depth level can remain open. Menu-Style TreeView Design: By using an alternative CSS file, you can modify the appearance of the TreeView Control in this example, the TreeView implements a menu-style iconography. Folder-Style TreeView Design: By using an alternative CSS file, you can modify the appearance of the TreeView Control in this example, the TreeView implements a folder-style iconography. When a node expands, you can use the YUI Connection Manager to retrieve information via XMLHttpRequest about that node's children. Dynamically Loading Node Data: You can improve the rendering time of your TreeView control by deferring the loading of child nodes until they are requested. 
Default TreeView: This example creates a simple tree with default settings and randomly populates its nodes. Support is provided for several common node types, for the association of custom metadata with each node, and for the dynamic loading of node data to navigate large datasets with a small initial payload. Access – Cannot open a database created with a previous version. Microsoft Office/Access V2206 – Stay Away!. If you are looking for a TreeView control I’d highly urge you to take a look at it, see: They have a samples for Excel, Word and Access. Nothing to install/register (dll, ocx, …). Once again, the community answered the call! JKP Application Development Services developed and freely released 100% VBA TreeView, no strings attached! The TreeView itself can be a very useful tool no doubt, but Microsoft’s solution was too limited and fragile. Then Microsoft decided to do away with the TreeView control altogether. On top of that, it never got ported to 圆4 bit, so those developers were screwed (for lack of a better word). TREEVIEW ALTERNATIVE UPDATE
Sadly, everything came crashing down on me when Microsoft released their update KB2596856 and instantaneously my clients who were running my databases with the TreeView control could work no longer! … I cleaned up the mess and stayed as far away from ActiveX controls as possible. Like many of you, I have used the TreeView control in the past for a couple projects.
